“This month, we’re talking a lot about healthy foods AND how to navigate the grocery store. So, it was only fitting to share a photo of my haul. This is a week’s worth of food in my household!” “Yes, check out all those veggies!” It’s the same items week after week…..all the veggies I love, but I try to change it up sometimes!I try to hit the grocery store once a week for just the basics and do a big shop monthly for pantry items.” I usually hit the grocery store on Saturday and try to finish all my meal prepping that day! All those veggies will soon find their way into a veggie soup and will be roasted ready for the week. This plan makes it easy and convenient for me to prepare for healthy eating next week.I try to keep to the U shape of the store for all my buying, but I love to take the opportunity to walk through the aisles for exercise! Unless I’m in a hurry! Then it’s in and out I go!!!” ~ Claire It’s your turn! Share a pic of your grocery cart and tag Lisa Grace Wright or JC Guerrero with it! ⬇️⬇️⬇️If you want a copy of our brand-new Cart Smart 10 Minute Shopping Sprint Guide, DM us the word “SPRINT,” and we’ll send it to you as soon as possible.

🙈 7 “BONUSES” OF EATING JUNK FOOD 🙈Normally we talk about the benefits of eating whole foods…😲 Well, let’s flip that script and talk about the likely “benefits” that ultra-processed junk foods bring to the table — that really aren’t benefits at all.Ultra-processed foods are manufactured “food products” like snacks, packaged meals, cereals, etc.)7 “BONUSES” of Eating Too Much Junk Food1. Added sugars and unhealthy fats that cause inflammation, which is linked with chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, some cancers, and weight gain.2. Excess sodium, which is linked with higher blood pressure and a higher risk of heart disease and stroke.3. Gut problems like constipation can happen, because they are low in fiber.4. Roller-coaster energy and blood sugar levels because of their low fiber content and high amounts of refined carbs/added sugars.5. Fewer vitamins, minerals, and essential nutrients that your body needs — especially for the high number of calories these foods contain.6. Cravings, because they are chemically engineered to be super delicious and make you want to eat more of them.7. A higher carbon footprint because of the manufacturing process.A better, healthier bet: the real foods that your grandparents (and your body!) would recognize.Save this and follow us for more health and wellness tips! 🎯🚀#SmartFoodChoices #HealthyCart #EatBetterFeelBetter #GroceryShoppingTips#ypbvip #yourpersonalbest #functional

🤔 Commonly Asked Question: “Are organic veggies and fruits healthier?”⚖️ The answer is… wait for it… it’s complicated! There’s no real evidence that organically grown produce contains more vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients than conventionally grown, according to researchers. But something that organic produce doesn’t have: a layer of pesticide residue!Eating enough fruits and veggies (organic or not) is a key part of a healthy diet — so knowing which ones have the most residue can be good info when shopping! It can help you save money AND upgrade from conventional to organic when it makes sense.⛔ Here’s the latest top 12 “Dirty Dozen” fruits & veggies, from the EWG:StrawberriesSpinachKale, collard, mustard greensPeachesPearsNectarinesApplesGrapesBell and hot peppersCherriesBlueberriesGreen beansA total of 210 pesticides were found on Dirty Dozen items. Some studies link those pesticides to health issues like hormonal imbalance, weight gain, mood issues, and a bunch of other struggles we’d all rather not deal with.So if you CAN buy these items organic, that may be your best bet. Thank you so much, John. We appreciate your hard work — and your kind words! We at Your Personal Best Training Studio are grateful and proud to be part of your journey.“With the end of the New Year’s Transformation Challenge nearing, I wanted to share my impressions and takeaways. My three goals were: (1) Understand what I was consuming regularly. (2) Establish meal plans to maintain my weight, and (3) Reach my goal of 155 pounds.I used the challenge to keep track of what I have been eating regularly using the spreadsheet. After 4 days of tracking, I found my meals for the day were low in carbs, low in protein, and high in fat. I found the main culprit for fats was store-bought salad dressing used in excessive amounts and size of portions. From there, I started with my usual meal, reduced the fat, and increased the carbs and protein. I had to balance these changes with the effect on my glucose levels. I have always considered the YPB Challenges educational, and this one has achieved all my expectations. The materials were most helpful, and the emails were informative. I am now monitoring what I am eating, … particularly dinner, based on where I am related to my goals and how much exercise I have done during the day. My meals are more balanced, with carbs and proteins closer to the suggested goals, but still over in fats. Although I have not reached my goal, my weight has been slowly and steadily trending down, and my glucose levels have been great. I enjoy my meal plans; they work for me, and going forward, I can maintain my weight much better. I consider it a great success and am glad I took the Challenge.” ~John Shepherd💪 If you’re ready to try our NEXT quarterly Challenge to lose those extra pounds, get your “spark” back, and do what it takes to make it happen! 🥗 Myth vs. Fact: “Eating healthy is expensive.”🌟 Myth!
