I hope plenty of good food, family and friends are in the cards this year for those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving. I'm driving to my parents where I'll meet up with my sister, her husband, and a baby with the cutest cheeks I've ever seen. Hopefully a few friends will stop by as well. I picked a dozen of my favorite Thanksgiving recipes to highlight today - it seems to be the only thing you are searching for right now. Also, in case you missed it, I made a list of vegan Thanksgiving recipes and a slightly different list of vegetarian Thanksgiving recipes.
9. Nikki's Sweet Potatoes, 10. Spice-kissed Pumpkin Pie, 11. Kale and Olive Oil Mashed Potatoes, 12. Firecracker Cornbread
I'm going to try a few recipes this year, and if all goes well, I look forward to sharing them here with you next year!

I've read (and drooled over) your recipes for a while, but this week was the first time I actually made one. The Golden-Crusted Brussel Sprouts were one of the best parts of Thanksgiving. Thank you!
Tried your couscous, pomegranate salad last week and it was fabulous. These recipes look great as well and want to try the roasted pumpkin salad.Thank you for sharing.

Never having been a fan of brussel sprouts, I saw the carmelized tofu recipe and thought I would substitute another vegetable, but decided to try it as written first. Now I'm a fan. It's so yummy! The key, I think is the freshness of the brussel sprouts. Delicious - and after having made it for friends, I've made others new fans of brussel sprouts as well!

Thanks for the wonderful recipes! This was my first Thanksgiving on my own, and though I have hardly any pots or pans or anything in my kitchen, and not much of a budget, so many of your recipes are simple, inexpensive and delicious to make.

Obviously, the classic choice here is a roasted turkey, but you don't have to feel limited by that. You could do a whole turkey breast for a smaller crowd, or go off the beaten path with long-braised turkey legs and thighs. Southern Thanksgiving often involves a ham, which is always delicious.
Many Americans would regard Thanksgiving dinner as "incomplete" without stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, and cranberry sauce. A recipe for cranberry sauce to be served with turkey appeared in the first American cookbook, American Cookery (1796) by Amelia Simmons.
It is also worth noting what was not present at the first Thanksgiving feast. There were no cloudlike heaps of mashed potatoes, since white potatoes had not yet crossed over from South America. There was no gravy either, since the colonists didn't yet have mills to produce flour.
Many of those turkeys will be on the table at Thanksgiving, as the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates that Americans consume more than 46 million turkeys on Thanksgiving Day each year.
Southern-cuisine expert and cookbook author Diana Rattray has created more than 5,000 recipes and articles in her 20 years as a food writer. The classic Thanksgiving dinner includes old-time favorites that never change: turkey, gravy, stuffing, potatoes, veggies, and pie.
What is America's favorite Thanksgiving side? Mashed potatoes took home the top spot for this year's favorite side. The top five most popular holiday side dishes include: Mashed potatoes.
The traditional roasted turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, candied yams, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie are on almost every modern Thanksgiving menu, in some form or variation. This menu has evolved over time and continues to evolve today.
While, technically, just about any color can be incorporated into a Thanksgiving table setting or holiday theme, the Thanksgiving color scheme most people associate with Turkey Day is orange, brown, red and yellow.
Thanksgiving only comes once a year (or twice if you count all those leftovers the next day). And it's hard to beat a traditional Thanksgiving feast, from turkey to stuffing to allllll the potatoes with enough gravy to top it all off. And you must save room for dessert.
Traditional Thanksgiving dinner includes Roast turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing (or “dressing”), and some kind of pie for dessert, typically pumpkin, apple, or pecan. Common sides are green bean casserole, scalloped corn, and roasted sweet potatoes.
IF you mean a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner: roast turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, string beans, rolls, cranberry sauce; mushroom dish, maybe a salad or 2, maybe wild rice; pumpkin pie and/or apple pie.
